Principal, President and CEO
Chris A. Christoffersen is President and CEO of Health Services Associates, Inc. Mrs. Christoffersen holds a BA in Accounting with a concentration in business from Ferris State University. She provides financial statistical analysis, education and management services to rural health clinics, FQHC’s, and state agencies. She enjoys helping others succeed and is passionate about the ever-changing healthcare system. She is a great asset to Health Services Associates, Inc., and to the rural health community.
Julie Wiegand
Principal, VP of Medical Billing Services
Julie A. Wiegand, Vice President of Medical Billing Services brings over 20 years experience in Rural Health Clinic billing. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology at the University of Michigan and has received training as a computer programmer which included rewriting government programs into more usable format(s). She is certified as an AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer. Julie’s focus on detail and logic is an important piece of what she does at HSA.
Julie Quinn
Principal, VP of Compliance and Cost Reporting
Julie Quinn is Vice President of Compliance and Cost Reporting. Julie is a CPA with over 25 years experience in governmental compliance and cost reporting, 15 of which she spent in the Medicare Contractor arena. She holds an MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Administration. She assists RHCs with cost reporting, audit resolution, rate setting, and various other cost and compliance issues.
Michelle Renee
Director, Enrollment & Certification
Michelle Renee holds her degree in Business Administration. She enjoys learning and assisting providers reach their goals in becoming a certified rural health clinic. Her areas of focus include Medicare and Medicaid credentialing, project lead and coordinator, initial and recertification mock surveys, and initial Rural Health Clinic certifications.

Director, Compliance & Education
Tressa R. Sacrey joined Health Services Associates in May 2015. Mrs. Sacrey has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and has completed courses in Business Applied Technology. Key areas of responsibility include creating policies, developing emergency plans, facilitating hazard training, researching CMS regulations, conducting on-site compliance mock surveys, and creating forms and tools to assist RHC’s across the nation.

Kiesella Cook joined the HSA firm in 2023 as Administrative Coordinator and brings 28 years of experience in the Healthcare field. She is passionate about a positive work environment and helping others succeed. Kiesella holds a key role in coordinating and running the day-to-day operations of the firm.

Amanda Danley joined HSA in June 2009. She holds a degree in Business Administration, with a specialization in Finance, from Aquinas College. Her expertise helps providers effectively navigate their Rural Health Clinic journey. She is proficient in providing initial RHC certification, Medicare and Medicaid credentialing, enrollment, and compliance support, allowing providers to achieve their goals. Her commitment to team success is evident from her willingness to assist with various other tasks.
MARYBETH GLEASON
Billing and Compliance Analyst
Marybeth Gleason currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Human Resource Administration. Her areas of focus with HSA are human resource audits, medical record reviews, medical billing, and oversight. She has been with the firm since March of 2016 and enjoys assisting providers in reaching their full potential as a Rural Health Clinic.

Health Services Associates, Inc. was started in 1980 by the late, Ron L. Nelson, PA. Incorporated in 1987, it has been our mission and goal to promote access to health care in rural and medically underserved communities, hospitals and practices throughout the United States. With our firm having over 40 years of individual experience in direct health care delivery and management, we’ve enjoyed bringing a professional and friendly approach to the rural community.
Ron L. Nelson, Founder of Health Services Associates was a recognized expert in the area of reimbursement and physician payment. Mr. Nelson served on multiple National and State commissions and testified before Congress on numerous occasions regarding issues related to payment policy. Mr. Nelson was the co-founder and first president of the National Association of Rural Health Clinics.
Mr. Nelson completed two terms as President of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Mr. Nelson had a broad background in both health policy and clinical delivery and was frequently recognized as an expert on cost-based reimbursement related to rural health clinics and federally qualified health centers. Ron loved his family, his patients, his horses and spending time in the mountains out West. He is greatly missed by all who knew him.
